We were drowning. The challenges felt overwhelming and we felt so ashamed.

The real, game-changing transformation for our family happened when we finally received coaching ourselves.
Being truly seen and heard by a certified coach who empathized with our mess and gently showed us the next steps forward was the turning point.
It was in relationship with our coaches, and in prayer with God, that we had our biggest breakthroughs.
But the most pivotal moment, the very reason our ministry is called "Built on Rock", came when we were at our lowest point.
In a life-changing coaching session, we realized the true foundation of parenting wasn't just expending all of our energy and self-control in doing everything perfectly as parents: in our case in generating therapeutic felt-safety for our kids with trauma to melt into and slowly heal. Burnout. Shame. Isolation. Frustration. And Repeat.
The true Foundation is finding our own unshakeable safety in God.
It was learning how to ground our own identity, worth, and peace in the rock of Christ's love for us that changed everything.

Our Breakthrough Became Our Mission.
When we started living from and sharing this foundation of being secure in God's love, He began to open doors for our ministry in ways we never could have imagined. It has been a humbling journey of seeing His grace at work.
It began with an invitation to share our workshop at the Archdiocese of Dubuque Parenting Conference. From there, we were blessed with opportunities to be guests on national podcasts like "The Connected Families Podcast" and "Witness to Love," reaching thousands of parents we would never have otherwise met.
We felt called to reach even more families, so we launched our YouTube channel and social media ministry as a way to offer encouragement and practical tools each week.
By God's grace, the opportunities to serve grew. We were humbled by invitations to speak at the National Marriage Summit in Houston and lead workshops at Catholic schools like Marquette.
As the mission continued, we were asked to share the framework with teachers at Beckman & LaSalle Schools and lead multi-part workshops at parishes like St. Thomas Aquinas in Ames and St Patrick in Hampton.
Luisa has also been entrusted by Connected Families as one of the coaches to collaborate in creating their Spanish-language podcast episodes, and she has been hired to lead a full-day international parent conference in the Dominican Republic.
With each event, it has become clearer that the feeling of discouragement we had experienced isn't unique to us. There is a deep hunger in the heart of the Church for a more grace-filled way to parent.

Is this framework really a good fit for my Catholic faith?

This sounds nice, but is this just 'permissive parenting'? I'm worried about being a doormat.
That is a fantastic and important question. The answer is absolutely not. Permissive parenting is actually high on connection but very low on accountability: it avoids setting firm limits. Our framework is about being high on connection AND high on accountability.
